Park Center Staff Member Receives the Presidential Lifesaving Award

Daniela Taylor, Park Center South's Food Service Coordinator, received the highest award given by the American Red Cross on Tuesday, November 24th.  The Presidential Lifesaving Award of Merit for saving a life was presented by Nashville Area Red Cross CEO, Tim Ryerson.  This action exemplifies the highest degree of concern for one human being for another who is in distress.

On April 22, 2009, Daniela noticed that one of Park Center's members was having chest pains.  She was suffering a heart attack and Daniela calmly responded by performing compressions until the EMTs arrived, working with the help of other staff and the 911 operator.  The victim has recovered from the heart attack and is back attending Park Center.  She was in attendance to thank Daniela and present her award.

Proclamations were also given by US Congressman Jim Cooper and State Representative Susan Lynn.  Patti Saliba from State Senator Mae Beavers' office gave her proclamation and US Senator Bob Corker's office sent a letter of congratulations to Ms. Taylor.
