    Park Center is proud to continue our partnership with the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission as they seek to eliminate homelessness in Nashville.  This vital funding will assist people with mental illness who are experiencing homelessness as they apply for SSI/SSDI benefits and search for permanent housing.

    Baptist Healing Trust has awarded Park Center a grant to provide a LADAC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor) for Park Center's Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program.  This enhancement to the program will allow members who have a co-occurring disorder another avenue of support for their recovery through cognitive behavioral, 12-step facilitation and motivational enhancement therapy.  Providing intensive alcohol and drug treatment alongside Psychiatric Rehabilitation will allow our members to re-discover skills and access resources necessary to become healthy, and inc

    Park Center and United Neighborhood Health Services have partnered to provide a broader array of health care services for our members.  Each Wednesday UNHS nurses will come to Park Center East to assist members in their physical health needs.  This service enhances the mental health clinic services already being offered.

    Park Center was very fortunate in the recent Nashville flood.  Only a few of our properties were slightly damaged by the water.  However, many of our members have not been so fortunate.  Their homes have been flooded and many have lost their possessions and precious memories. 

    Our Homeless Outreach team participated in the evacuation of Tent City over the weekend and helped them move to temporary shelters.  The needs of people experiencing homelessness are many, but this event has magnified that need.

    Park Center will be participating in The Key Alliance's WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES walk on Saturday, April 17th at 9:00 a.m.  Walkers can register by logging onto www.thekeyalliance.org.  Donors can support you and you can choose to represent an agency at the walk.  We invite you to choose Park Center!  70% of any dollars you raise will come back to support Park Center's Homeless Outreach program.

    As a partner in a citywide effort to bring people in from the recent frigid weather, Park Center's Homeless Outreach Team and volunteers spent the weekend contacting people and transporting them to area shelters and churches.  In addition to finding 118 people, 4 dogs and 2 cats shelter, they handed out countless blankets and warm clothing to support those who did not want to come inside.  We are grateful for their work and dedication!

    Daniela Taylor, Park Center South's Food Service Coordinator, received the highest award given by the American Red Cross on Tuesday, November 24th.  The Presidential Lifesaving Award of Merit for saving a life was presented by Nashville Area Red Cross CEO, Tim Ryerson.  This action exemplifies the highest degree of concern for one human being for another who is in distress.

    In honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, Park Center South will host a piano performance by Nashville Symphony member, Roger Wiesmeyer, on Friday, November 20th at 11:00.  He will be performing a Mozart sonata in three movements.  The concert is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.  Lunch will be served at 12:00 for a cost of $1.35.  Reservations for lunch can be made by calling Beverly Grant at 615-242-3576 or by emailing beverly.grant@parkcenternashville.org.
