Park Center Housing Solution
A crucial need of the seriously mentally ill is adequate, low-income housing with support services.  We know that many people with serious mental illness have difficulty maintaining housing.  Park Center receives over 120 housing referrals each year from agencies throughout Middle Tennessee and surrounding counties. Approximately 99% of those served by Park Center are low-income, receiving SSI, SSDI or no income at all.  

Beginning in 1987, Park Center addressed the housing challenge by establishing affordable and safe residential housing solutions for people with mental illness.  Today, three levels of housing are offered to meet the needs of the individual who has been diagnosed with a major mental illness:


Independent Housing contact info

95 Independent Units with a total of 138 beds
8 units classified for adult with co-occurring diagnosis
14 units HUD 811
15 Shelter Plus Care for the Homeless
4 Units for Single Mothers with children under 12


Supported (Group) Housing contact info

Residents live in a group setting with staff on duty.

Currently there are 4 units with a total of 29 beds.

 

Safe Havens contact info

Immediate, temporary housing for the homeless. Individuals stay at Safe Havens until they can transition to more permanent housing. Currently, there are 2 units with a total of 16 beds.
